student giving a fist bump to an adult at the walkathon

Martin Road Elementary School students had a Walkathon on Friday, Sept. 24. The rain was threatening, but it thankfully held off!

This was an incredible event! Not only does it help promote physical activity with students, it is a PTA fundraiser. Students brought in coins each day to contribute to the PTA, and then on Friday, they walked three times around the building.

Thank you to all of the families and children for contributing! The school raised over $2,000 dollars. Special thanks to the Ali family and second-grader Malak Ali. They made a special $500 contribution. Thank you to all of the volunteers as well. Children loved to see parents walking and helping at the school.
