Students read in class.

Our second graders have been busy building their skills as researchers, writers, and illustrators! This week, Miss Sullivan and Mrs. Wagner's class worked in collaborative groups to create their very own informational writing projects.

As part of their ELA unit, students have been learning about how infant animals are similar to their parents. This guiding question launched them into an exciting research project focused on Arctic animals.

Working together, students researched various Arctic species using age-appropriate texts, wrote informative paragraphs using the facts they gathered, illustrated their pages to bring their learning to life, and collaborated as a team to create a final project they are truly proud of.

Their hard work strengthened key literacy skills while also encouraging communication, problem-solving, and creativity. We are so proud of the effort, curiosity, and teamwork our 2nd graders showed from start to finish!

Stay tuned! These young authors have even more learning adventures ahead!
