Teacher works with students in the classroom.

This week, our amazing second graders took on a big math milestone—subtracting three-digit numbers with regrouping of tens! Students were tasked with developing strategies for subtracting three-digit numbers as well as recognizing that when there are not enough ones to subtract, the tens can be regrouped as ones.

Ms. Sullivan and Ms. Rogers provided hands-on practice for their students, utilizing whiteboards and base-ten blocks. Now, the students are confidently solving these subtraction problems by breaking them down step by step. Way to go, second grade math champs! Keep reaching for the stars—one regrouped ten at a time!
