Martin Road Elementary is celebrating Black History Month is by highlighting African Americans through literacy. 5th grade teacher, Ms. Michelle Gibert, created this beautiful bulletin board to showcase a collection of literacy resources that our students could access in our school library to further explore African American diversity.
This bulletin board showcases African American history and culture such as Flossie and the Fox and Sukey and the Mermaid, African American author Maya Angelou and biographies on Katherine Johnson, Thurgood Marshall, Barack Obama and Jackie Robinson.
