The annual 5th Grade Spelling Bee took place on Tuesday, June 6th in the auditorium at Martin Road Elementary School. Sixty-three brave 5th graders summoned their spelling skills to participate in this year's competition. The word list for this competition was carefully crafted by the 5th grade teachers, using the Wonders reading series. It was a fierce battle amongst the last three contestants to decide the award-winning places. The winning word was referred. This year's winners are: First Place - Hadiatou Ba from Ms. Gibert's class, Second Place - Veronica Delago from Ms. Perry's class, and Third Place - Ryan LaBerta from Mrs. Guglielmi's class.
