""999 Broadway was the location for Virtual Field Trip #4 for the 5th grade remote learners at Martin Road Elementary School. What could be better than the Broadway Market in the Spring? Around since 1888, the Broadway Market was started by immigrants to continue Old World customs. This longtime market has an array of local produce, meats, baked goods, specialty foods, and live music.

The students were treated to the festive sights and sounds of the Easter crowd at the market. As virtually awesome teachers Mrs. McDonald and Mrs. Kwiatkowski narrated this virtual trip, students were tasked to answer real-life math problems. Students were challenged to solve multi-step equations involving adding, subtracting, and multiplying decimals. These problems included calculating subtotals and change and deciding which offer contained the most value for their money.

This virtual field trip was a historical, cultural, and real-life, valuable experience for the class!
